Prohibition on medical pot cookies unconstitutional

Many people turn to marijuana for relief of M.S. symptoms.  It is a personal choice because many doctors say it is not a good treatment option.

It is bad enough dealing with M.S. without adding insult to injury by calling a medical marijuana product an illegal drug while saying it is legal to grow and smoke the very same marijuana plant that created the products, body cream and cookies.  For instance, people with asthma cannot smoke marijuana and therefore, they need an alternate way to ingest the substance.  Cookies seem innocent enough.

B.C. Supreme Court has struck down a section of Canada's medical marijuana laws that said licensed users cannot possess pot cookies or marijuana body creams.
Justice Robert Johnston ruled the federal medical marijuana access regulation that allows permitted users to only possess dried marijuana is unconstitutional on Friday in Victoria.

Health Canada allows people suffering from debilitating illnesses to have access to marijuana for medical purposes. They can get the marijuana through Health Canada or they can get permission to grow it themselves.

Lawyer Kirk Tousaw successfully argued there is a contradiction in the law, which allows the designated users to smoke marijuana but prohibits them from turning it into any other product.
