SERENITY PRAYER ADAPTED FOR ADD by Dr. Edward Hallowell

SERENITY PRAYER ADAPTED FOR ADD

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;

The insight to prioritize wisely what I want to change;

The patience to resist trying to control everything I could, had I the energy and time;

The courage and skill to change the things I have chosen to change;

And the wisdom to know the differences among all these.

When you have an invisible illness

Not only is multiple sclerosis pain real, but what others see is only the 'tip of the iceberg' of what we FEEL.

When you have multiple sclerosis sometimes the simplest tasks can be a struggle.

Mindfulness experts suggest a few ways that we can notice -- not push away -- how we feel during difficult moments.

"You realize along the way that self-care and the ability to manage stress can have an impact on your health. How we feel and how we look at life affects how we function physically."

When you have an invisible illness it's hard to explain to someone who doesn't have a clue, it's daily struggle being in pain or feeling sick on the inside when you look fine on the outside.

Never look down on someone unless you're helping them up.

When you have multiple sclerosis you don't always know how you're going to feel from one day to the next.

Do you ever feel guilty for canceling plans so you can rest?  Recite this mantra:

Sometimes

Could you have an invisible illness?
