CCSVI Coalition

Never underestimate the power of a small, dedicated group of people to change the world; indeed, that is the only thing that ever has.

- Margaret Mead

About Us

CCSVI Coalition is a Canadian group of volunteers focused on funding research to better understand CCSVI treatment and other neurological disorders.

Our Mission Statement:

To achieve the recognition of CCSVI as a treatable medical condition, to research all aspects of CCSVI, especially as it applies to degenerative neurological diseases; to encourage and fund research to identify the best treatment options for CCSVI, and to make treatment of CCSVI available in Canada.

Our immediate priority will be the relationship of CCSVI to Multiple Sclerosis, but not to the exclusion of other neurological diseases such  as ALS, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s and other health afflictions such as depression and headaches.

Our Activities

We have raised more than $500,000 for CCSVI research and we have had some success in keeping the need for treatment and more research in public discussion.  We have challenged the MS Society of Canada to promote CCSVI treatment and research and we have made representation to elected officials to persuade them to change the prohibition on treatment of CCSVI.

Click here to see the challenges and Resolutions we are presenting to the MS Society of Canada in anticipation of their annual general meeting 18 June 2011.

Our core principles are:

-         much more and better research should be undertaken into the effects of CCSVI and the treatment of the condition

-         treatment of CCSVI should be available immediately in Canada for patients with CCSVI who choose to be treated for this condition.

The CCSVI Coalition is the new name for the Blocked Veins MS Research Group.

We are joined in these efforts by a range of other groups such as Angioplasty for All and Direct MS which share these core values.
