Gabapentin for chronic neuropathic pain in adults

 
 
 
Gabapentin, sold under the brand name Neurontin among others, is a medication used to treat epilepsy, neuropathic pain, hot flashes, and restless legs syndrome.
 
 Gabapentin is used to treat epilepsy.

It's also taken for nerve pain. Nerve pain can be caused by different illnesses including diabetes and shingles, or it can happen after an injury.
 
 
 
 
 
 
What are the most common side effects of gabapentin?
 
Less serious side effects may include:
  • dizziness, drowsiness, weakness, tired feeling;
  • nausea, diarrhea, constipation;
  • blurred vision;
  • headache;
  • breast swelling;
  • dry mouth; or.
